I must admit, I am not at my best
Since my mentality is overrun with negativity, that's what I manifest
Yes, I confess, I'm a hot ass mess
I'm tired, unhealthy and breaking down from stress
Blah
That was wack
But it's my truth
I just want to be very still and quiet until this hard time passes
I miss my mother
I'm dissatisfied with my job
My children are driving me nuts
I'm pms'ing
And there's more bills than money to pay them
But I'm okay
I have been waking up every day
I can see
Hear
Walk
Talk
And my car still does what it's supposed to
I'm blessed
I am
But I'm also very tired
I've been having very bad headaches and chest pains
I keep most of that news to myself because there's little anyone can do to stop it
I'm not in the best of moods right now
Not in the best head space
That's why I've just been keeping to myself mostly
This is temporary...just like everything else
That is all

Winter/Spring Feelings
Dearest fair maidens, dashing divas and glamorous gals do you know what time it is? It's time to say goodbye, farewell, au revoir, sayanora, arivederche & all that jazz to winter and hellooooo to spring! I can't tell you how geeked I am to have some sun shining on my skin, birdsong flirting in my ears and warmer temperatures. Though this is the best winter Chicago has had in a few years, I am still ready for it to vanish vamanos! And with that being said...I have a confession. Though I'm ready to wish winter a farewell so spring can be sprung...I find myself still longing for winter wardrobe pieces. A part of me will miss dark nail polish, supple leathers, high boots, tights, etc. As a matter of fact, this is probably the best time to adopt some sumptuous winter wearables for a super duper low investment. Here's what I'm liking...
Accessories can take a blah outfit and make it a BANGIN' outfit! Tights and knee socks have become a favorite of many a daring diva because they can add drama and flare. Now this particular trend may be harder to pull off come spring, but if you live in the midwest where spring can often mean dip diving evening temperatures and temperamental day time thermometers, hot legwear can be rocked from winter through mid spring.
Last but most definitely not least, we must talk dresses! I have come to love, Love, LOVE dresses! I like them edgy, flirty/feminine but most of all...eye catching! I love these three picks because they are everything I want in dresses and a little bit more. Flirty, feminine, funky, a little edgy and definitely eye catching.
When it comes to outerwear, I like it dark and neutral. The neutrals can easily go from winter to spring but the darks....mmm, probably not so much. Still, these pieces can be coaxed into biseasonal wear...maybe?
Nothin' says lovin' like hot footwear, and if you love your footsies, you'll encase them in shoes/boots/booties that help you put your best foot forward. I'm loving these picks because they can go from winter to spring with nary a problem...and your feet will love you for it!

Well that's it for me, I'm off to scope some potential spring adoptees....ciao bellas!

Reinvention...?
I'm going through changes. As always...for a daughter of Oya. I've not been keeping my blog or youtube channel up to date...that will change very soon though. Lately, I am more into fashion, nail polish and makeup than I am into politrix and other "important" musings. I am blossoming into an entirely different creature during this third of my life. It feels different...and good *big smile*
I'm not sure how this journey will conclude, but I am certainly going to enjoy the process. Let the metamorphosis commence!

Play List
Try a Little Tenderness - Otis Redding
Put That Woman First - Jaheim
Take Care of Home - Dave Hollister
You Are the Best Thing - Ray Lamontagne
I wonder if these men really put action behind the words they wrote/sang? I love these songs...they're on my dream man play list. There are other songs on the play list, but these are the songs that came to mind just now. One of these days the dream will become reality. Until then...I have the songs. And chocolate. And a vibrator.

Supernova
It started when the stars came out
You and I on outdoor blankets laying about
Counting constellations
Plotting our journey with blades of grass and tree bark
The moon caressed us as you caressed me
My skin milky brown in the glow of Earth's satellite
Your lips full with spoken promises and as yet unspent kisses
My mouth beckoning and delicious
My summer dress moving in the breeze and your exploring hands
Your fingers fondle their way to my tiny pink panties
I giggle back moans and inhale your cologne
Your tongue tickles a trail from my bottom lip to the very end of my collarbone
I no longer care if we've remained alone in our dark corner of the park
There is just the breeze
Your fingers and tongue
And Earth's satellite watching my universe expand
It started when the stars came out

Deadlines are dead but the poetry lives on...
Divorced
Fuck jesus
I wept
Shed blood and tears to make the unworkable work
I put in work
Worked my fingers to the bloody bone
Ground my shoulders against the boulders until my heart felt like stone
A marriage of misery and deceit
You trod upon my loyalty with glad feet
Me pregnant with our possibilities harboring hostility because of your infidelity
I sang sweet melodies to our child in utero hoping my tear stained voice would help her to grow
Grow into the woman I was not at that time
I whined, begged, pleaded to be needed by you
Cooked your food, ironed your clothes and fucked you too
Not enough, not good enough, I took enough of your shit to start a swine farm
When you grabbed, shook and pushed my autonomic nervous system rang an alarm
Time to go
Pack and don't look back
Take the babies and flee
And life became real
I faced it with zeal
Free of of the enslavement I traded my maiden name for
Closed the door on the poor girl who knew not womanhood
I stood on my own, made a home for me and my seeds
Free of you and your misdeeds
And now I am triumphant
I weep no more
