In lieu of brand new material (for now) I'm going to post a product review vid I did a while back on the Aveeno Positively Radiant Line. With summer around the corner, I know many of you ladies are looking to get your skin on point and thus, need to know what products work...and which won't. Soooo, take a look-see. Aveeno didn't really work for me but perhaps you'll have better luck. Ciao for now bellas!

Dearest fair maidens, dashing divas and glamorous gals I am back and feeling much much better! My hormones have returned to normal and my non-retail therapy (yippee for sales!) has helped my mindset tremendously. This has been a lovely weekend and a great start to May here in Chicago. The weather has been mild and lovely and I am looking forward to flashing my long legs in some cute dresses and skirts and showcasing pretty painted toenails in cute peeptoes and gladiator sandals. But enough words, let's get to some pictures of my latest adoptees why don't we :-)


While in Target shopping for Bounty and Tide, I traipsed over to the shoe department to check out the oh so lovely Cynthia Vincent wedges that The Cheap Chica's blog post featured a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately, my neighborhood Target was fresh out of those wonderful wedges but I did luck up these great Mossimo Pollyann Gladiators:

Are they cute and familiar or what? Familiar because they are almost an exact dupe (though less expensive at $22.99) for the pricier Steve Madden Kasidy Gladiators ($79.95 pictured below).

 

I've not had the pleasure of trying on the Kasidy Glads, but the Pollyann Glads were so cute, comfy and nice I bought them twice! The Cognac Pollyann Glads (pictured below) give me options ;-)

 

Don't you just love Target? Yeah, me too, lol. I also have my eyes on these cutie Mossimo Penny suede sandal booties:

These beauties are also cute, comfy and available for the super bargain price of $22.99. Very friendly for any Frugalista's/Recessionista's wallet. And because one can't rock cute open toe sandals without fabulously painted piggies, I copped some cute colors from Sally beauty Supply. I'm loving their Finger Paints nail lacquer because it goes on smooth and satiny and the colors are funky, flashy and femininely pretty. They're also on sale at buy two at $4.99 ($4.49 if you have a Sally Beauty Club Card) get one free. Sally is also selling off last season's Finger Paints colors for $1.99 each (also BTGO). I got these:

Been a while...

I must admit, I am not at my best

I've been having very bad headaches and chest pains
I keep most of that news to myself because there's little anyone can do to stop it
I'm not in the best of moods right now
Not in the best head space
That's why I've just been keeping to myself mostly

Winter/Spring Feelings

Dearest fair maidens, dashing divas and glamorous gals do you know what time it is? It's time to say goodbye, farewell, au revoir, sayanora, arivederche & all that jazz to winter and hellooooo to spring! I can't tell you how geeked I am to have some sun shining on my skin, birdsong flirting in my ears and warmer temperatures. Though this is the best winter Chicago has had in a few years, I am still ready for it to vanish vamanos! And with that being said...I have a confession. Though I'm ready to wish winter a farewell so spring can be sprung...I find myself still longing for winter wardrobe pieces. A part of me will miss dark nail polish, supple leathers, high boots, tights, etc. As a matter of fact, this is probably the best time to adopt some sumptuous winter wearables for a super duper low investment. Here's what I'm liking...

When it comes to outerwear, I like it dark and neutral. The neutrals can easily go from winter to spring but the darks....mmm, probably not so much. Still, these pieces can be coaxed into biseasonal wear...maybe?

 

Nothin' says lovin' like hot footwear, and if you love your footsies, you'll encase them in shoes/boots/booties that help you put your best foot forward. I'm loving these picks because they can go from winter to spring with nary a problem...and your feet will love you for it!

 

Accessories can take a blah outfit and make it a BANGIN' outfit! Tights and knee socks have become a favorite of many a daring diva because they can add drama and flare. Now this particular trend may be harder to pull off come spring, but if you live in the midwest where spring can often mean dip diving evening temperatures and temperamental day time thermometers, hot legwear can be rocked from winter through mid spring.

 

Last but most definitely not least, we must talk dresses! I have come to love, Love, LOVE dresses! I like them edgy, flirty/feminine but most of all...eye catching! I love these three picks because they are everything I want in dresses and a little bit more. Flirty, feminine, funky, a little edgy and definitely eye catching.

Reinvention...?

I'm going through changes. As always...for a daughter of Oya. I've not been keeping my blog or youtube channel up to date...that will change very soon though. Lately, I am more into fashion, nail polish and makeup than I am into politrix and other "important" musings. I am blossoming into an entirely different creature during this third of my life. It feels different...and good *big smile*


I'm not sure how this journey will conclude, but I am certainly going to enjoy the process. Let the metamorphosis commence!
